Your reporting – overview
Any business that places packaging on the market has a responsibility for its entire life cycle – from manufacture to recycling. Transparent reporting allows you to keep track of volumes, materials and their impacts. As a result, you can
not only fulfil your legal obligations, but also identify
opportunities to optimise your processes for
greater efficiency and sustainability.

Reporting as a value creation step
- Cost control and planning certainty
- Transparency and verifiability
- Sustainability as a competitive advantage
Reporting provides the basis for economic and environmental benefits through the efficient and future-oriented use of packaging.
Traceable. Comparable. Plannable.
Your reporting makes packaging flows and their effects transparent, enabling you to comply with legal requirements and identify opportunities to reduce both costs and environmental impacts.
-
What volumes have you made available on the market?
-
How are these spread between different types of packaging?
-
What are the environmental and economic effects of this?
Control costs with clear data
The reported and recorded packaging volumes form the basis for the
fees you pay to systems or service providers. The more precise and
forward-looking this information is, the better you can keep your costs under control. Calculating your waste volumes accurately gives you planning certainty and protects you against the need
to make additional payments.

Volume reports – packaging
in a circular systemCompanies that place packaging on the market must document their volumes accurately. Whether transport packaging in the B2B sector or sales packaging in B2C, correct volume reports are the only way to fulfil take-back, dual-system participation and registration obligations traceably and in compliance with the law.-
Transport packaging (B2B):
Not subject to system participation, but take-back and documentation obligations apply. Volume reporting ensures verifiability and transparency in the B2B sector. -
Sales packaging (B2C):
Subject to system participation. In this case, double reporting is required: to the dual system and to the LUCID packaging register – identical material type and volume information. With planned and actual volumes, you gain planning certainty and avoid additional payments.

-
CSRD reporting
In addition to volume reporting, the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) also shifts the focus to reporting on standardised sustainability metrics.- ESRS E1 – Climate change: Basic data about your climate impacts in relation to Scope 3, i.e. the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the recovery of your types of waste.
- ESRS E5 – Resource use and circular economy: Detailed information about your resource outflows and their recovery methods.
